Customer service at Etihad has quickly gone from that of a premium airline to something worse than budget airlines. Due to COVID I have had multiple flight cancellations. As recent as June 2021 I was able to change my flight or get a refund quickly on the phone or by messaging Etihad on Twitter. Now (September 2021) all my messages on Twitter are not answered. Whenever I call, I am told by the answering system to wait 1.5-2 hours.

Good service in hard timesCustomer service is reachable and responsive. I had to cancel my ticket due to some personal reasons, they cancelled and refunded it fairly. I had used many airlines and etihad is reliable, standard and better than the rest.

Worst customer service! I doubt they even have one as there’s no one to answer your calls. Just hours and hours of automated bots on your calls! They simply cancel your flights without rescheduling and make it very hard to even do so!!

Etihad airways used to be one of the best airlines. But after a few years, their customer service seem to descend over time. Im usually bored during long flights but their flight entertainment is not as good as before. They start housekeeping as early as 30 minutes before arrival. The blondfold for sleeping is gone. Hot towels during the flights are also missing.

The website is not good for booking because it showing errors while the booking. I have book flight but payment didnt work so I contact through phone to help me with booking and they increase the amount I need to pay extra 1200 dhs for there mistake. And Im still waiting for there call...

I had the opportunity to work for Etihad Airways and to drive lots of projects. This gave me the chance to visit the HQ pretty frequently. Nice and modern offices with dining opportunity within the building. A great experience was the flight simulation program to fly an A380. Thank you Etihad!

Boarding and grind force team push more people on their bus services inside the airport. Very worst experience faced while travel from abudhabi to Chennai. The crew didnt attend properly. Cabin luggage storage is not sufficient. We have to keep our hand luggage underneath. This so so uncomfortable for those who are coming from long distance and taking this connecting flight. Compared to Qatar airways this is the worst one. Take off and landing is smooth. Based on my experience I would not suggest for this airways. Go for Lufthansa or Qatar..

Dear etihad airwaysThis is in regards of the cancellation of an ticket ..booking ID NN7114653120214Passenger Name :-mohammad matloobPNR :- TIJRFBE TICKET NO :- 6073319634084Destination:- Delhi to RiyadhDate of Journey:- 16 March 2020I contacted the customer executive of makemytrip on 14th march for cancelling of my ticket because flight was not operational on 16th march due to Coronavirus crises , the costumer executive told me that we are not having any update regarding the flight ,so you must contact the airlines regarding this , than i contacted your customer executive, she told me that yes the flight is not operational due to corona virus so i asked her to cancel my ticket , she said that sir you would be able to cancel your ticket by your travel agent only and you will be provided with the full refund and no cancellation fee would be charged due the policies which were on 14th of march then i cancelled my ticket by opting the option flight is not in operation by the airlines...after 4-5 working day the make my trip provided the refund after deducting the cancellation charges..the refund was of Rs.2760 in my bank account and Rs.666 in my mmt wallet account.So i again contacted the your customer executive she said that you should talk to your travel agency regarding this and ask for the full refund because full refund has been provided to you because of the policies which were on the 14th of march i.e the ticket cancellation date.The customer executive also suggested me that if the make my trip doesnt provide you the full refund you can make an conference call with the make my trip and airline customer executive. So that the airline can have a talk with the mmt team by questioning them why the mmt have charged the cancellation charges when the airlines have not charged any cancellation fee.So i again contacted the travel agent they said we dont have conference call service available you just ask the airlines to give that in written that you are eligible for the full refund so that we can ask the airline to refund us the full amount because airline have charged the cancellation fee and if the airline provide us the refund than, we will provide the full refund to you.I request you to kindly see to it and provide me with the mail mentioning in that i am eligible for the full refund because according to the policies which were on 14th march i am supposed to get the full refund.. and the credit voucher service was came in run on 17th of march. I can’t understand why u have opened the reservations and u still did not get the clearance from the concerned authorities!!!! U call Abu Dhabi Office they tell u no clearance from the other destination and u call the office destination they tell there no clearance from Abu Dhabi. U don’t refund the tickets as well which were booked recently and u don’t confirm the dates, u just took the money for the reservation a without any confirmation and keep in cancelling and rescheduling the flight and what is that called “COVID-19” new regulations?? I’m appalled by the behavior of your airline staff and customer service representatives. On our flight from Bahrain to the UAE, we tried to book a seat for our infant son (using our FAA approved car seat) due to safety concerns over turbulence, a concept which your outsourced customer service representatives are unfamiliar with.The on the phone customer service rep confirmed she had booked our son a seat. One day before the flight, the ticket showed that a seat had not been booked for our son. We called back demanding a seat for our son only to find out the price had been jacked up substantially. Fast forward to our flight and we were not given bulkhead seats as promised on the phone. The stewardess informed us we could sit with our son in an emergency exit row. As we are taxing to the runway, getting ready to take off, the stewardesses informed us that we could not sit there and forced us to move — right before we were about to take off. It was an incredibly dangerous situation. I demand a full refund for our flights or I will file an airline consumer report. Your airline is not safe for families.

Worst experience on my first rescheduled flight to IND. Regarding customer service representative rarely 10% of staff are knowledgeable and supportive to customers. I was made to pay more than 700AED with no service by one of the poor customer representative. They must be supportive and understand customer unintentional issues for the travel.

The ground handling staff were terrible in Chennai, India. Unprofessional, rude and behaved like clowns from an underpaid circus…!!! The staff did not know what they were doing. They made me miss my flight and made me pay three times the normal price. Good money making scheme to travel in a third rated aircraft where the touch screens do not even respond properly. You have to click on 2.5cm away from where you want to select and if you are lucky it may work. This will be the least of your worries if you choose to fly with them. Flights do not follow scheduled advertised departure times. First time, I encountered flights leaving 20 minutes before the advertised departure times without all the checked in passengers. Absolute disgrace. Save your money and spend it wisely elsewhere. Best way to deal with them is to avoid these rude, crude morons.

Very bad experience with Etihad airways check-in rule for not allowing us with the luggage allowance granted from main airline Middle East Airways 30kg and on return being limited to 23kg via Etihad. This is unfair service for co-sharing airlines service!!! Staff were unpleasant too not to show any flexibility respecting old passenger circumstance. I will think many times before reaching out to Etihad airlines until they fix such rule.

Ive flown Etihad Airways on more than ten times. Their flights are clean, mostly on time and services are excellent. Ive even been upgraded to first class once. Only negative experience Ive had is once, when I reached the airport 90 minutes before flight I had to spend more than 30 minutes waiting in the queue at security checkpoint and check-in counter. Despite reaching the counter 55 minutes before departure, they denied me from boarding saying that I should have reached there 60 minutes before departure. Staff seemed to not care about the fact that I was at the airport on time and are not willing to help in any way. I even spoke to their supervisor but to no avail.For my trips to India, Etihad was my Airline of choice for the last 6 years. But now their prices are going skyward like Emirates. I found tickets that are 30% cheaper with Qatar Airways and duration of flight is extended only by 90 minutes each way.

The worst experience I ever had with this company and not for one time, started with first time in my life flying without fasting seat belt with a 1 y.o infant and No one from cabin crew tried to come and help us or even check, even landing to Beirut airport was without seat belts, after that flight the more flights the worse it was from bad cabin crew careless treatment ending with last flight 1 hour waiting time inside the plane because the ground staff didnt allow us to exit out only because we had sick guy in the plane and they hold everyone inside until they decidedto let us out, not talking about the food quality which became worse & instaed of normal meals, became 1 option indian food sandwiches with water, paying same not cheap ticket price!I can write more but I dont want to make it newspapers!Hopefully Etihad admin will act before its too late.

Half time review as I still have the return journey in which to get my final judgement. I am talking about the flight experience from Manchester UK to Abu Dhabi....food and drinks not the best quality to be fair.Economy flight is decent but not special. Between Emirates and Etihad based on this flight I will change back to Emirates. After my return flight I shall try Qatar on the next trip to UAE.We went out on a Dreamliner 10 series and returned on a 9 series. The return journey the seating arrangements seemed much tighter. Based on cuisineand the limited space on the trip Abu Dhabi to Manchester I was not entirely impressed. It was the meal out of Manchester chicken and mashed potato at 09.30hrs that made me realise I had made a mistake booking this carrier.

Unfortunately, the only National Airline operating in Abu Dhabi. I wish for Emirates Airline to be the National Airline of the UAE. Such depressing services and filled error on their mobile application. Staff are rude, they know nothing of customer satisfaction. Be a platinum member with them, you receive a fake welcoming smile, no gratitudes towards loyal customers. We rarely or never feel that membership benefits. Be a first timer or economy class, u receive the devil service. Staff needs training on customer satisfaction, your loyal customers needs to be addressed and super poor representation of this great country. HH Deputy President and Ruler of Dubai once said “Change or Be changed!” I hope the profit eating management wake up and start working honestly towards their staff and the customers. I’m a UAE National and ashamed of this Airline.

I took the flight EY408 yesterday from Abu Dhabi to BKK. Just boarded the plane, I realized my phone charger was left at the airport hotel (Aerotel Terminal 1) which is only 4~5 minutes walk from gate 5. The time then was 8:05, and the departure time was 8:45. I told your staff and the manager to help me to get the charger back(only 4~5 min’s walking distance). The manager said she will ask someone to do it. I waited and waited and waited, there is no feedback! Before landing, I asked your staff, their reply was: people are busy, no one take care of it. You may contact the hotel.

My flight was cancelled due to a technical problem. I arrived at my destination (London) 25 hours late. As a Business Class passenger I am still waiting 8 days later for an apology, compensation and a refund on my ticket. Etihad have not adhered to their contractual obligations. It is my opinion they do not care about their Business Class passengers. They feel it is acceptable to delay their passengers by 25 hours and not provide any type of compensation. I feel this is totally unacceptable. I was delayed with Qantas 3 hours on an International flight and they bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. Etihad you need to take a leaf out of Qantas book. They care about their passengers!I trust by posting this review that Etihad will contact me.

My auntie was recently flying on EY 205 from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi on 8/9/18. She was seated in 021K. While she was on the plane an unruly 8-10 year old female child both hit her and spit on her from the behind seat. When she reported this to the flight attendant staff, the flight attendant yelled at her and belittled her. Now, I have flown on a number of airlines and so has my auntie, but I have never heard of such appalling and horrid service and treatment for a passenger! Shame on your staff on EY 205 on 8/9/18!!

Etihad is getting worse! Trying to steal money from costumers by any means! My family recent travel to Jeddah is a proof! They didn’t mention anything about luggage during booking the tickets, and once they got to airport they charged them 840AED for luggage. Anyway, I paid 720AED for luggage for their return flight through the website (charged and I have the proof). When my brother checked the App, it didn’t show anything and he called costumer service and they said nothing was paid!! So he paid 1580AED for luggage again for the same return flight (so total 2300AED!!). I filed a complaint and they are acting stupid although I sent all the proof! Moreover, the agent at the airport told my family the system is not showing anything that is paid!!Etihad you are getting worse!! Fix your stupid system and don’t steal our money!!

My itinerary was from AUH-AMS with just over 24 hours of transit at AMS and then AMS-KEF on the next day. I wanted to recheck in my baggage in AMS(i didnt want to collect the bags directly at KEF) as i want to stuff more luggage in AMS.I went to city terminal in abu dhabi to find out if i can do that. I found out I must collect the bags in AMS as transit is more than 24 hours. So went to airport to check-in.When I was waiting at queue i somehow felt i should not go to this particular check-in officer as she looked arrogant. But ended up with her. She didnt even greet me and she looked at passports and without asking anything, she just checked in the bags directly to KEF. When i said i want to collect the baggage in AMS, she was just reluctant to change it again and told me it is not possible. She says she cannot tell the airport staff at AMS from here (abu dhabi) to unload these bags(As though I am uneducated). That is why we have these systems for, to just select options in the system and the rest is taken care of. I am not expecting you to make a phone call to AMS.She says i can request the airport staff in AMS to intercept the bags and collect it. She was just lazy to change and check-in bags to just AMS and asked me to do extra work. It took more than two hours at AMS airport to collect bags and my plans were screwed completely due to this.I would really like to mention about other airlines name here. The worst business class experience!!!It was impossible to fall asleep in the back of the business class because the damage to the airplane caused noise. The head of the staff was not friendly and unprofessional.

Etihad requires 3 hours advanced notice to check in because of immigration for US citizens (something that they do not tell you when you get here). I came one hour in advanced and they would not let me on the flight and want $1,500 MORE for penalty for something I knew nothing about. I am stuck in UAE now waiting for God to help and I just want to go home. DO NOT FLY ETIHAD unless you have lots of money to give them. It is a shame because they have some of the nicest employees who want to help but because of silly policy cannot do anything at all. Save yourself the suffering and do not fly with them. It is an airlines designed only for people with lots of extra money but not for the common man. It is big SCAM.

If I could give it NO STARS I would. Swapped my Etihad points for 3 gifts , my daughter’s arrives within 10 days but still waiting 6 weeks later despite 5 emails, 6 phone calls & being told repeatedly its being looked into. I think it’s all one big CON this points for gifts. Seriously how long does it take to sort something out ???????????????????????????????
